I don’t think this will be one of those years…
I don’t think this will be one of those typical fantasy football playoff seasons. You know the type with starters getting benched because their team has clinched the playoffs. Look at it this way, the season is over half way done and the only teams with great leads in their divisions are the Titans and Giants. We all know that the NFC East is the most difficult division and I don’t think Jerry will let his Cowboys go down without a fight. So that division isn’t clinched. If you have put all your eggs in a Titans basket, you’re crazy. While they are an amazing team, the defense is the thing with great “Fantasy Value.”
So no, I don’t think it will be a year of playoff births and starters getting benched. So, what does that mean exactly? It means that the playoffs, in fantasy football terms, can be played the way they should. Start Manning, Tomlinson and Brees. Don’t worry about anyone getting benched early. I would in fact go after the Dallas Cowboy players such as Felix Jones, Marion Barber, T.O., Tony Romo, and Roy Williams. These are all players that should shine.
But what if you haven’t clinched the playoffs and there is no hope. Don’t give up. Never drop an entire team and don’t make rediculous trades that everyone else will get mad about. Try to be a spoiler and win every game. You never know, there may be a spot after all and you could be the 2007 NY Giants and come from behind and take the cake.
